Had fun listening to the NCDXC/IARU beacons on 20m to 10m inspired by .
RX is a KX3 and the antenna a "3 wire vertical" on the balcony with somewhat resonant wires for 20m, 15m and 10m over a questionable groundplane! Bonus, the feed point is covered in 20 cm snow this time of the year.
RX report:
2025-01-06 after 10:00z (MUF Tromsø 22.2 MHz)
20M: CS3B 100W, RR90 100 W, OH2B 10W?
17M: RR9O 10W, CS3B 10W?
15M: 4X6TU 100W
12M: RR9O 1W, 4X6TU 1W?
10M: VR2B 100W

Getting a bit quicker at interleaving the transmissions with listening on the KX3. :)

Played with both RXs ( and ) for the today.

Listened a bit around local sunrise and sunset yesterday. Not much happening there besides the usual beacons.

20m CS3B 100W, RR9O?
, didn't check the higher bands

20m CS3B 1W, 4X6TU 100W;
only 4X6TU on 17M 100W, 15M 100W and maybe 12M

Today no new beacons either.

Last weeks was good fun. Good to „feel“ the radio propagation!

I was surprised to hear VR2B (~ 8000 km) well, but its my preferred direction with terrain sloping down eastwards.
4X6TU, CS3B and RR9O are all about 4000 km away and OH2B only 700 km.
Would expect to hear the JA2IGY beacon at a similar distance as VR2B, but we might not have shared daylight this time of the year.
BTW, the terrain slopes up westwards blocking propagation to north america.
