Two years later here's the next #danishdesign.

The KEVI office chair. The most comfortable workshop chair I've ever encountered. Absolutely perfect.

KEVI is a family of chairs with the 1960s ones having four legs, and the newer ones five. There's many types of upholstery.

These are commonly seen in offices and workshops. I don't understand why they're not more common outside DK.

Mine is an older one picked up today. Edit: it received some TLC and is now in my hobby room!

The area and coastline between Agger and Hanstholm in Thy in North Jutland has been named Cold Hawaii. Cold Hawaii achieved its name due to the wind conditions in the area are much like the one you will find in Hawaii 🙂 !

Honestly… what hard hearted soulless moron would go for this? As if being an unwanted, unloved pet isn’t bad enough.
May I suggest:
A.) Not keeping a lynx in a zoo.
B.) Giving unwanted pets to the thousands of people that want them.

Hey @cryptohagen and other #danish #privacy people. I need help!

My phone is on its last legs and I'm trying to decide on what to do with regards to getting a new one. It seems that a lot of things like banking apps, MitID, MobilePay etc doesn't work on custom ROMS like #CalyxOS #GrapheneOS and #e_OS

What do you recommend to stay private and secure while still owning a smartphone in #Denmark in 2025?

Is it just a matter of banking on a computer, using a hardware token for MitID and forgetting about MobilePay (probably good advice in general I know) altogether?

I was about to make a point about stress distribution in initialisms in #Danish - that with 3 or more letters, stress is on the last syllable - but that ADHD is an except, having stress on the second-last syllable (the H). But then I checked one dictionary that lists only one pronunciation, with stress on last syllable. So now I'm listening to podcasts to confirm my impression that the dictionary is wrong.

My pick for #BlackMetalMonday is not new, but it is so good. This album is a masterpiece of conveying sorrow and despair, while the opening track sets the tone in the best (worst?) way possible. That opening howl of pain and sorrow, I love it.

My son just invented a word:

‘næstfødselsdagsbarn’ n. (Danish) the person, whose birthday is tomorrow.

It is built on ‘fødsels·dags·barn’ (i.e. ‘birth·day child’) with the prefix ‘næst-’ (i.e. ‘second-’ as in ‘næst·bedst’, ‘second-best’). This prefix is almost exclusively used with superlative adjectives, but historically, it was used with some kinship nouns like ‘næst·søskende·barn’ (literally ‘next sibling child’, so ‘second cousin’).

He turns 7.

Overheard a #Danish pronunciation issue in real time. Child wanted to describe one of her skills as being a good friend - "god ven". Her mom said that she could just write "god ven", pronouncing "god" as [goðˀ] with a very clear soft d. The child seemingly corrected her, saying [goʔo], with no soft d, but realizing the stød with this kind of double-syllabification. They repeated their pronunciations back and forth, and then the child went on to write "go", not "god" as the orthography wants it.
