The United States has decided to reduce the reciprocal tariff rate on products imported from Bangladesh to 20% from the previously declared 35%, after a series of talks over the past month.
The announcement was made by the White House last night (31 July; Washington, DC time), after the final round of the talks took place between a Bangladesh delegation and US officials in the US capital.

A #Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft crashed into a #school campus in the capital, #Dhaka, shortly after takeoff on Monday, killing at least 18 people including the pilot & injuring 164 others, the military said.

Major international brands have told their Bangladeshi suppliers that the current situation surrounding the US tariff negotiations does not look good for Bangladesh.
AK Azad, managing director of Ha-Meem Group and former president of the FBCCI, noted that these international brands are closely monitoring the tariff negotiations between the US government and Bangladesh and are also lobbying on the issue.
