Die Lösungen von PayPal werden unterdessen in alle Google-Produkte integriert und PayPal wird mit Google Cloud beim Hosting und der Verbesserung seiner Technologieinfrastruktur zusammenarbeiten.</p><p><a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/paypal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>paypal</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/google" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>google</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/ki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ki</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/ai" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ai</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/ecommerce" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ecommerce</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/payment" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>payment</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/datenschutz" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>datenschutz</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/privacy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>privacy</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/eu" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>eu</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/datenmacht" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>datenmacht</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/kontrolle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>kontrolle</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/abhaengigkeit" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>abhaengigkeit</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/bigtech" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bigtech</span></a></p><p><a href="https://newsroom.paypal-corp.com/2025-09-17-Google-and-PayPal-Forge-Multiyear-Partnership-to-Revolutionize-Commerce" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">newsroom.paypal-corp.com/2025-</span><span class="invisible">09-17-Google-and-PayPal-Forge-Multiyear-Partnership-to-Revolutionize-Commerce</span></a></p>

It appears that call audio is once again working for #Google #MessagesForWeb running inside #Firefox. I can't tell you when exactly they fixed it this time around, because it turns out that although real call audio is working again, the buttons to _test_ call and ring audio are still broken!
I've been checking for weeks to see if they'd fixed it yet, using the test buttons. But the tests buttons are broken so those tests were useless. 😭 smdh

Probably just me, but when I open google.com now ( while logged in ), the cursor focus no longer is on the search box, but moves to the Account Icon in the upper right.

My muscle memory can't deal with that and I end up frustrated as to why my typing is not going in the search box. Some times I get 2 or 3 characters in the search box before the focus switches. Ugh.

"Tropical paradise. Smiling faces. This is the fantasy Fiji has successfully sold to the world. And as I drive along the West Coast of Viti Levu, the archipelago’s largest island, the scenery does indeed resemble a tourist advertisement: crystal-blue ocean water, white sandy beaches, and lush tropical forests hugging the shoreline. But Fiji is more than breathtaking landscapes. While most people are aware of the rapid rise of data centers in the US and Europe, the creeping influence of tech giants like Google and Starklink can be seen and felt here, too.

Starlink, a subsidiary of American aerospace company SpaceX (owned by Elon Musk), was launched in Fiji in May 2024 and has quickly integrated itself into the local telecommunications ecosystem. Late that same year on the West of Viti Levu, Google broke ground on a future data center facility that will also house four Google-built subsea cables. The Southern Cross Cable, Fiji’s first subsea cable, was connected on the east coast of the island close to the capital city, Suva, in 2000. Natadola Bay, the chosen site for Google’s future ICT Facility and new cables, is not located near the nation’s capital city. It is, however, conveniently located next to the world-renowned golf course and five-star luxury resort, a fitting location for a project that builds on the colonial legacies of the Pacific."

Data & SocietyConfronting Data Centers, Deep-Sea Cables, and Colonial Legacies in the South PacificAs big tech companies appeal to small island countries’ anxieties about being left behind, Emma Quilty considers how efforts to transform islands into digital hubs obscure the power and agency of these places and their people.

Accrescent has always been free to use because we believe security shouldn’t have to come at a price. From the beginning, we’ve been funded purely by donations from generous users who want to sponsor Accrescent’s development and ensure its long-term viability. This approach has so far been successful; incoming donations completely cover Accrescent’s server costs while I (Accrescent’s lead developer) work on Accrescent in my spare time (usually out of my own pocket).
