#Microsoft, #CrowdStrike, #PaloAltoNetworks, and #Google Team Up To Standardize Confusing #Hacker Group Nicknames

The initiative aims to reduce confusion caused by the proliferation of disparate naming conventions across #cybersecurity firms, which have assigned everything from technical designations like "APT1" to colorful monikers like "Cozy Bear" and "Kryptonite Panda" to the same #threatactors.

404 Media · Hacker Plants Computer 'Wiping' Commands in Amazon's AI Coding AgentThe wiping commands probably wouldn't have worked, but a hacker who says they wanted to expose Amazon’s AI “security theater” was able to add code to Amazon’s popular ‘Q’ AI assistant for VS Code, which Amazon then pushed out to users.

Hey folks,

Decided it was time for a fresh alias, so here’s my
#introduction. I’m a creatively driven fellow with a passion for privacy, cybersecurity, Linux, and free and open source software. I enjoy gaming, creative writing, and technology—the latter of which inspired me to pursue cybersecurity and system administration.

I embarked on this journey around the start of the pandemic, when the sudden surplus of free time gave me the opportunity to try Manjaro, a distribution of Linux based on Arch. With the release of the Steam Deck, I moved over to NixOS, which I’ve been using ever since while studying cybersecurity in higher education.

The majority of my posts will be set to follower-only, so feel free to throw a follow my way if anything of mine has piqued your curiosity at all.

Look forward to interacting with you all in the future! ^^

It's the ultimate encryption implementation! Did I write it myself? Yes. Should one write their own crypto? Probably not. Am I going to use it? Well...

This was certainly a very fun exercise, and I learned a lot. A twenty year old project dusted off and modernized. Enjoy!

Mark LovelessUltimate Encryption Solution — Mark LovelessI wrote the ultimate encryption implementation, wow it is so good! However as far as usability for the average person (or even ultra nerd) leaves a lot to be desired. A WHOLE lot.

As a hacker, the fact that AI can generate code that is insecure and that people actually run is a reason not to use AI. But also, as a hacker, the fact that AI can generate code that is insecure makes me want to drive as deep into AI as possible.

AI is here and isn’t going away. I’m not dismissing it simply because it has a few elements or implications I don’t like. I’m delving in neck deep because as a character that hangs out on the edges of society, it is damn good to know the strengths and weaknesses that surround me at all times. I can take advantage of those strengths, and certainly can take advantage of those weaknesses as well.
