The veil of night in the forest makes plants more likely to become animals and walk around until sunlight comes. With a flashlight and a bit of luck we are able to catch them in the act.

Here you can see another insect with an IR filter. Under IR light sun flares look different than under normal light; they're angular. It's not something I'm used to but I think it adds some nice shapes to the otherwise more or less monotonous background.

The Thick-legged Flower #Beetle is also known as the Swollen-thighed Beetle, and when you see a male of the species it’s easy to understand why! A #pollinator of open-structured flowers, this shiny green #insect has expanded its range across southern England and Wales. Having not seen one for several years, I was delighted to find several of these busy Beetles at Brandon Marsh on Friday.
