Pretty much done with the transfer to Linux. OnlyOffice is another free suite worth trying. Does everything Office does, more elegantly in some cases.

@tinker I recently switched many of my spreadsheets to #LibreOffice and have been very happy.

I frequently work remotely on my iPad, often without Internet access in my small, rural, state of #Vermont. It took some research to figure out that #CollaboraOffice is the #iPadOS (née #iOS) & #Android version, is free, and does NOT require #CollaboraOnline account service.

Works pretty well. I think I'd struggle using it on a phone without a physical keyboard, but that's me.

@GabeMoralesVR @alda @parismarx Bill Gates once said, you could purchase a software application from us and never have a reason to upgrade again. I run various legacy Windows VMs going all the way back to Windows 2.0 with Excel 2.0and honestly, the same basic budget spreadsheet I used to manage in Excel works the same in that version. You really don't need the latest. Switched to #LibreOffice Calc and #Numbers on my #Mac never looked back.

@baekdal #nextcloud med #collaboraonline fungere ret godt.. noget nørdet at sætte op. Men så har man en hel cloud service kørende på alle enheder. Også #libreoffice installeret lokalt på datamat hvis du ikke vil redigere i browser… og #nextcloud app til mobile enheder. Og det er kun VPS delen der koster lidt. Ellers er det hjem på den lokale maskine og køre det på eget hardware..

@ibenb I’m learning to use #Ubuntu, #Vivaldi and #LibreOffice to replace #Windows, #Chrome and M$ Office, I’ve just moved all my photos from #Google Photos to @ente. Eventually I hope to swap my #iPhone for a #FairPhone running /e/ os. You’re right though; it is Sisyphean! Just gotta keep pushing those rocks.
