As Ontario grapples with the largest measles outbreak in decades, experts are calling on the Ford government to create an electronic immunization registry that would make it easier for people to get vaccinated and reduce the burden of vaccinepreventable diseases. #vaccinessavelives #vaccines #doctors #publichealth #medical #science #measles #Ontario #canada

Assessing Intent: Repetitive Strikes on Ukrainian Health Care Facilities

"From Feb 24, 2022 through Oct 24, 2023, one-in-five targeted health care facilities in #Ukraine experienced repetitive attacks... This observed pattern raises the possibility that health care facilities...are being intentionally targeted."

Raises the possibility?

"Daydreaming is normal. It is a fantasy break from our daily slog. But when daydreaming becomes obsessive to the point of impairing daily life, it is maladaptive. For example, a person may replace unsatisfactory real relationships with imaginary ones, only to find themselves terribly alone."

I’ve been trying to get a formal assessment for dyslexia in Canada for over a year and finally got into a place to try and get it done a few months back.

I did an intake and got ghosted for 5 weeks.

The psychologist called today out of the blue and was being an ableist shithead about my cognitive limitations for the testing.

I had words. I’m so tired of having to explain the level of disability I deal with and fight through every goddamn day. People who live normal lives and work normal hours will never, ever understand. A psychologist of all people - should.

I’m still pissed.

Hey Fedi, I'm getting surgery in a few days (Friday, 4th April) to cut a lump out of my abdomen, and while everything medical is covered by public healthcare, I need a bit of help covering living expenses while I can't work for a few weeks, so have set up this crowdfunder to get me through:

Update: I’ve had the surgery, the lump was bigger than expected so I needed a drain bag after and have stayed in hospital for a few days. The drain is now out, I’ll be out of hospital in today or tomorrow (Sunday or Monday), but I won’t be able to work for at least six weeks.

Update 2: I'm out of hospital, and napping a lot in my own bed; fuzzy headed, slow moving, and aching, but slowly improving.

#Malta is an expensive flight plus accommodation away for them.

We're considering running one of our short courses in the #Ghanaian capital, #Accra for these students, but need to gauge interest first.

Anyone here from Ghana, who might be interested in studying with us?
