I have 4 meg in it at the moment and will explore some other upgrades like the #PiStorm . I have the SideCartridge https://sidecartridge.com/ so won't be going down the Gotek route.
Going to replace the LEDS for some nice blue ones and some additional LEDS behind the new badge.
Michal Schulz has released an update to his Motorola68K emulation Emu68 for the ARM architecture, focusing on the PiStorm and PiStorm32lite. Version 1.0.5.1 offers two important changes, which Michal Schulz writes about:
I'm afraid I just bricked my new #PiStorm after a failed attempt to flash the CPLD!
Ok, it's probably recoverable, but now I need to figure out how the JTAG interface is supposed to work.
Aha! Kickstart 1.3 can't detect the emulated Z3 RAM mapped by the #PiStorm, so the benchmark was running off the slow A500 trapdoor RAM.
I loaded a Kickstart 3.1 ROM for the A500, but it won't boot.
So I switched to a 2.0 ROM, and this time the system booted normally. Now the text rendering glitches are gone and the CPU runs much faster, but still slower than my A4000/040!
I'm a bit disappointed: the Z3660 with the UAE JIT emulator runs does 1000 MIPS
I'm testing a freshly assembled #PiStorm on a real Amiga 500.
I have no prior experience with the PiStorm, so I followed the README to install the system image onto a RaspberryPi 3, compile the emulator from git head and... run it!
The #Amiga started right away and loaded my SysInfo disk image. However, there are text rendering glitches, and the m68k emulator runs even slower than the original hardware running at 7 MHz
Yes it is, the #neogeo #demo that reached 2nd place last week at #revision #demoscene party, will run on the next version of #MAMEMinimix on Amiga #pistorm It's called #Vaporous and is only the second demo ever made on the SNK console. #demoscene #retrogeek #wazaaaaaa
I moved my SD card installation from the #PiStorm emulator with its background linux OS fully to #Emu68k now. Not so comfortable to work directly with the .hdf files, but #WinUAE also mounts the SD card partitions to transfer installations simply. In combination with RGB2HDMI the gaming machine is back to life.
Happy Easter days for you all.
