This year, we have expanded the #festival slightly by having #LanternMaking for the general public on Thursday, Sept 25 & the main event on Friday, Sept 26.

#SilentSunday
No matter how mad the world has become, taking some quiet moments to reflect & think about the many marvelous things that bring our hearts & souls some happiness, is always a winning investment
Please boost for wider reach
My friend & fellow local activist, Mary, has organized & is hosting this #AllInclusive #Accessible #SilentDJ #DanceParty at #BeaconHillPark in late September.
She has #LongCovid & became #disabled from it. The fight to save the only long covid clinic here is still needing public support.
Really happy to feel some raindrops before my nature walk ended. It's raining lightly now & we should get rain all night & all day tomorrow. We really need the rains!
Really nice conditions on Portage Inlet & the Gorge Waterway, today
I'm home & making some pho ga (chicken pho) now.

I discovered this old, seaside walkway nestled in a small waterfront pocket park in Esquimalt, 20 years ago. The end of the walkway & rocky beach area has views of CFB Naden, which is beside the park. There's a fence/gate to block access to this concrete footpath now - I climbed around it. I've done many past photoshoots at this location with various models.

Gorgeous blooms on a large & healthy Indian bean tree aka cigartree or Southern catalpa.
It prefers moist soil with full sun. It's easily raised from seeds which germinate early in the first season. It multiplies readily from cuttings. This tree is fairly free from fungal diseases & has few insect enemies. Which is why many landscapers love to add it.
The wood of these trees are brittle/hard, but doesn't rot easily; it's used for fence posts & railroad ties.
