Maltimore<p>I have to admit that in my infinite vanity, I've always considered myself "able-bodied" and as such have never checked the "accessibility" settings.</p><p>But I'm not entirely able-bodied, I have mild Deuteranopia (the gree-weak variant of red-green weakness). I am now testing the color correction of KDE. The results are.. strange. Not sure I like it yet, but definitely interesting.</p><p><a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Accessibility" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Accessibility</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/KDE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>KDE</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Deuteranopia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Deuteranopia</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/ColorBlind" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ColorBlind</span></a></p>

Per AxbomSomething to always be aware of: Many wheelchair users can stand and move around for brief periods of time. Not all wheelchair users are paralysed. Reasons for wheelchair use are numerous and varied.<br><br>Some wheelchair users choose not to stand in public because chances are they will be chastised and harassed if they do. With more awareness and understanding this risk can hopefully diminish over time.<br><br>For example, if a wheelchair user is able to retrieve their own wheelchair from the boot/trunk of their car, this does not mean they are ”faking”, and accusing them of this is ableist in itself.<br><br>”Ambulatory wheelchair user” is something you can search for to learn more, as many are sharing their experiences online, like Lauren:<br><br><a href="https://www.rareyouthrevolution.com/post/ten-things-i-wish-you-knew-from-an-ambulatory-wheelchair-user" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.rareyouthrevolution.com/post/ten-things-i-wish-you-knew-from-an-ambulatory-wheelchair-user</a><br><br><a class="hashtag" href="https://axbom.me/tag/accessibility" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#accessibility</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://axbom.me/tag/wheelchair" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#wheelchair</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://axbom.me/tag/ambulatory" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#ambulatory</a>
Kat Marchán 🐈<p>Do people have opinions on dynamic "flash" notification things on web pages, where you get a little warning/info/etc box at the top of the page somewhere that you have to click to dismiss? Jonathan<p>Question to the fellow blind/VI people. How do you train/do fitness? What I mean by that is, going to the gym, or have you found good/fun activities for home which do actually improve strength/muscles and aren't just keeping up the general condition. Regarding the gym thing, I live in Germany, so no idea if there are differences to stuff in other countries. But for now I don't have friends or other great ways to get around, so no idea if that would actually be an option anyway. Still interested.<br>I figured I'd ask here first, but might actually also post this on r/blind later.<br><a href="https://someplace.social/tags/Blind" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Blind</span></a> <a href="https://someplace.social/tags/Accessibility" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Accessibility</span></a> <a href="https://someplace.social/tags/Sport" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Sport</span></a><br>Boost appreciated</p>
