Just listened to Raphaël Pichon and Pygmalion’s 2025 recording of Bach’s Mass in B Minor (Harmonia Mundi). The soloists are outstanding, especially Lucile Richardot whose alto solos are deeply moving. The choir takes some sections at an extremely fast tempi, which, is executed with incredible precision. The use of the hunting horn adds a distinctive edge, though it sounds slightly harsh to my ears. Howevereath is a compelling interpretation well worth exploring.
