The best thing about beans and rice for dinner? Is beans and rice (and avocado) for breakfast! Sadly, we ate all the plantain last night but it's still yummy.

Making some Belizian stew beans and coconut rice for dinner. I stuck to the recipe except that I replaced the lard with oil and added a smokey chipotle and some mushroom flavoring as a nod to the smoked pork flavor you often find in this dish.

At plot, rainy day, not quite cold, just fresh. Indoor beans bursting, soe tomatoes which end up gobbled once ripe enough, by me. Tobacco goig strong.

Outdoors am preparing for the winter, cauliflower cranking on, takes a long time to grow, strawberries also growing nice with a few fruits, grape, no grapes thista but very nice.

Lima bean harvest

Picking Lima beans is like finding IRL loot boxes. I must open them immediately and see what's inside .

And I find "jack and the beanstalk" extremely relatable, because if someone offered me some magical beans, that would be very tempting! Beans are already pretty magical.

Toe bean training

The last two days of garden harvest. I looked at the small melon bed today and found a ripe melon, then another, and another, and more... Picked all the fully red Marconi sweet peppers and all the paste tomatoes I could find that were ripe.

Harvest for August 3rd and 4th.

Found a big crookneck squash today, fewer beans, a few zucchini, a couple of cucumbers, and some tomatoes.
