What's so pathetic about this redesign of the #macOS drive icons from #Apple isn't that it ditches #Skeuomorphism, it's that it hangs on to skeuomorphism by trying to show a non-euclidian geometry vision of the face of a desktop drive.
Apple lacks the #Courage to go full geometric primitive and make icons that are pure metaphor. Given they're cargo-culting their own graphical history in so many decorative ways, they could have made uncompomised high-fidelity takes on the pre-Aqua icons.

@onepict Feeling powerless isn't the same thing as being powerless. Sometimes people choose that feeling over the discomfort of action.
And to be sure, action against power is dangerous and one must make their own choices about safety and the safety of their loved ones.
But change only occurs with courage and the willingness to be unsafe. Psychologically and/or physically. This is the battle raging in hearts and minds right now.

June 14 is far enough away for most of us to be able to make arrangements to attend a local rally. It’s been billed as a “No Kings” rally or sometimes “No Clowns.” Regardless, it is one day to prioritize civic engagement!
Come! It’s cleansing and empowering to be with like-minded humans!
History of similar authoritarian takeovers shows that if just 3 1/2% of the population rises up in this way, they can topple the regime. A rally in April turned out a little under half that percentage so 3 1/2% is 100% within reach!
(And I just realized that when I said “topple” in reference to this regime, this sounded a bit dramatic. I think that if we get numbers too large to ignore out on the streets in protest that this will help Republicans to realize that the people are NOT with this president and begin to protect their constituents)
