Chris Alemany🇺🇦🇨🇦🇪🇸
PVC cement is kinda scary and I am not completely convinced I need to use it. lol

None of this pipe is going to be completely inaccessible, and I may need to adjust things down the line... all the joints are within the wet zone of the holes so no water lost if there are any small leaks.

started early this morning so I could get at leaat something done before the oppressive heat sets in.

I need to go to the store rn to pick up fittings.

#poolpond #bacyardproject #diy

haliphax 👾
Wanted to pry up a few rotten boards on our deck and replace them with fresh lumber before we have it stained. Kept finding more issues as I went along. Wound up replacing 15 floor boards, 5 step boards, the whole set of stairs to the landing, and part of the railing by the time I was done. 😅 #DIY

Chris Alemany🇺🇦🇨🇦🇪🇸
It's still 33 out but the sun has retreated behind the trees so I was able to convince the liner to go into the right places and placed the pipe into the new trench.

I essentially got back to where I was at 10AM 😂 So here is the before/after.

But I made good improvements, so it was worth the day long impacts of the heat on my head/body.

No big moves tomorrow. Natasha Nox 🇺🇦🇵🇸
I've got a really weird issue I need help with:

My modified 3D printer got a Z-Probe (BIQU Microprobe) for calibration. However, for some weird reason, it always falsely measures the left side of the print bed causing that side of prints to get this weird texture-related elephant foot while the right side lacks adhesion (and texture).
I do not understand why the probe would falsely measure on the left, but not the right. Chris Alemany🇺🇦🇨🇦🇪🇸
The realization was that if I had said piping in the bottom
of the poolpond just like that, then the elbow from pipe up to outlet would be at least 4 inch (10cm), requiring at least that amount of gravel to cover it and bring everything up to level, and probably more. Which is:
a) a lot of gravel $
b) a loss of depth for enjoyment of water.

So Chris is digging a pipe trench... 🪏

Also took the opportunity to improve the steps on the end of the pool pond and the indentation for the yellow basket with the pump inside.

It is 28.5°C
#backyardProject #diy #gardening #watergarden #poolpond

Fortsettelse av samtale

Had enough for today. Some of my black-handled tools are almost too hot to hold without gloves.

Got a gravel base down for flagstone. I'm experimenting with "urbanite" as well. Looking rather good I think. I thought it would look more junky mixed among the real stones. Some judicious sledge-hammer shaping involved.

The left channel also had a blown fuse and some heat-stressed resistors (a few were shorted). I swapped them all, upgrading the stressed ones to higher-wattage versions so they run cooler. Finished by adjusting the bias as per the service manual. It’s been running fine for the past hour… 🤞 We’ll see if it survives the next few days!

Managed to bring a Rotel RA-02 back to life! 😀 Picked it up with a dead left channel and decided to fix it myself. Took me much longer than someone who knows what they’re doing, but I learned a lot. The culprit: a shorted output transistor (2SB817/2SD1047). Originals are discontinued, so I used FB group-recommended replacements (2SA1962/2SC5242) and replaced both channels for a match.

I liked this rotating fringe thing - saw it somehwere a few months ago - and thought about giving it a try. It's fun and I like how it turned out. Mixed leathers for the quirk and textures.

💡 Tip: The top heart is vachetta and it can work as essential oil diffuser - or you can spray your favorite perfume and hang it from your rearview mirror.

Avoid your ex's, unless you want your car to smell like heartbreak 🥴
