Small #bookbinding update! I've been dormant since little one came in October but I'm getting ready to dust my tools off soon.
I recently purchased a new laptop case from a great #Canadian #Etsy shop that specializes in making crafts from old kimonos. The artist offers packs of scrap pieces perfect for A5 journals. Really excited to get started!

On arrival the team will help you choose a kimono, obi (belt) and accessories.
You will then be dressed (be sure to wear comfortable underwear!), and the team will help style your hair.
We will give you a small bag for valuables, but other things can be left at the studio.
How it works...
You can organise kimono when making your booking at Flower Teahouse.
You will be asked how many male & female kimono you would like (we can dress guests up to 200cm/6.5ft tall, and with waists up to 150cm/59 inches).
Kimono can be added to existing bookings any time by email.
We ask that guests return for undressing by 5pm.
(If you have a 5pm tea ceremony then the studio will wait for you to return).

Rental is 6000 yen per person.
We can dress any age, and have a large selection of kimono to fit all sizes.
Typically we dress guests 1 hour before their tea ceremony, but you can let us know a time that suits you.
The studio is open from 9am every day.
CAMELLIA KIMONO STUDIO
For guests attending our Flower Teahouse we have a dedicated kimono studio with professional dressers.
Recently we've had a lot of questions about renting kimono, so I thought I'd compile a thread of useful information (and also introduce the team).
Tea ceremonies can often seem like sober and sombre affairs, so it was really nice to take these more candid shots of how fun the tea gathering was.
As a team we are rarely together, so events like this are important.
The young members made for fantastic hosts.

*In the not-too-distant past furisode (振袖) indicated that a young woman was single and of marriageable age.
Interestingly it was only in the 19thC that furisode became gendered, and only in the 20thC that they (in part due to Western influence) were restricted to girls and women.
Worn by young, unmarried women* in Japan, this style of kimono was once commonly purchased by parents for a daughter's coming-of-age.
Notable for their long sleeves, furisode (振袖) often feature bright colours and bold designs.
Check out this fabulous pony kimono I whipped up for G1 Butterscotch! It's a stylish twist that’ll have her prancing in fashion! 
I assume this is the name of the printing company on the lining and the artist’s stamp on the front - can a kanji-reading sleuth translate or track this down for me?
