The #FolkRidingBikes "event booking" system is super lightweight. Someone posts a message like "Anyone riding tonight? 6pm at the Bikiosk" in the WhatsApp group and attendees react to that with 👍

It's more of a "don't go without me" than a mandatory requirement; it's a very relaxed affair.

Last night there were five 👍s on my announcement.

As you can (just about 🤣 ) see from the video, the good weather and promise of beer garden brought out a few more!

Next-generation all-electric ‘gliders’ are entering road trials in the #Liverpool City Region this month as part of Mayor Steve Rotheram’s plan to launch a high-capacity rapid #transit fleet by 2028. The 18-metre battery-powered vehicle, borrowed from #Spanish manufacturer Irizar and featuring Metro livery, follows last year’s trial with a #Belfast vehicle. It carries 120 passengers—30% more than a double-decker bus—and includes features like level access and off-vehicle ticketing to speed boarding. The service will connect key sites such as Liverpool city centre, John Lennon Airport, and football stadia. Backed by a £1.6bn government settlement, the scheme aims to build a clean, reliable, integrated #transport network, offering an attractive alternative to car travel. A public event will be held on 23 July for residents to view the vehicle and provide feedback.
