RxBrad<p>Hey, it works! No more reaching under the control panel when switching between 4-way games like Pac-Man, and 8-way games like The Simpsons!</p><p>Drilled 4 new mounting holes under the control panel to replace my old OMNI2 (Sanwa JLW) joystick with a new Sanwa JLF. Replaced the "Select" button I had mapped to Enter (and never used) with the 4-way / 8-way toggle duo-button. Rearranged some wiring... And it's good to go! </p><p>Highly recommend this bad boy!</p><p><a href="https://thunderstickstudio.com/products/tos-grs-switchable-4-to-8-way-restrictor-1" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">thunderstickstudio.com/product</span><span class="invisible">s/tos-grs-switchable-4-to-8-way-restrictor-1</span></a></p><p>Now to get it all scripted up so it automatically switches modes when launching the game. (Will be a little extra effort, because their Linux support software assumes Debian/Retropie, and I'm on Arch/Manjaro).</p><p>Also, now that I have one LED button, am I going to be a lunatic and light this whole thing up now? (maybe just the 4 admin buttons)</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.rxbrad.com/tags/arcade" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>arcade</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.rxbrad.com/tags/emulation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>emulation</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.rxbrad.com/tags/RetroGaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RetroGaming</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.rxbrad.com/tags/MAME" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MAME</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.rxbrad.com/tags/videogames" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>videogames</span></a></p>
Ricós<p>How do you clean a MAME romset on Linux?</p><p>On Windows, I used to load the whole set of splits on Launchbox, filter out clones, mahjongs and that kind of thing, then export the thousands of remaining ROMs that are essential to life itself (If you don't need sprites like these, I don't understand you)</p><p>But I'm not seeing anything like that on Linux. Please point me in the general direction of the answer 🙏 </p><p><a href="https://mastodon.art/tags/askfedi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>askfedi</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.art/tags/RetroGaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RetroGaming</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.art/tags/mame" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>mame</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.art/tags/rom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>rom</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.art/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linux</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.art/tags/linuxgaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linuxgaming</span></a></p>
