Just ended a several month long mountain biking drought quite spectacularly by riding the very excellent Ned's Atomic Dustbins (named, I believe, after the British indie band from the 80s/90s and not the episode of The Goon Show from the 50s they borrowed the name from, though I might be wrong) on my local hill Mt Seymour, and then having an excellent coffee at my favorite local coffee shop

Happy Sunday! At first I didn't want to get off the couch at all after cleaning the bikes.
Then I convinced myself to do a small 1h loop.
Then I wanted to check if a part of a way (which is closed in winter) is open again and do at least 30km.
Luckily I just returned before some rain started.

Tonight was the first group mountain bike ride of the season, and whooooo I can say for sure that all my winter exercising has paid off. I feel fantastic. (Might not be able to use the stairs tomorrow, though.) We got about 6.5 miles in before dark and I even set some PRs, which doesn't always happen on the group rides - it really depends on who's leading and where we stop to breathe.
It was cold, so we didn't stay for post-ride beers. Maybe next week!
