Nations Before the Nation-State: Between City-State and Empire From Antiquity to the Present by Anna Marisa Schön, 2024

Meet nice people.
Nice people say "come to Wales".
Completely unrelated people: "did you ask this dude in London for permission? Wales jeez"
Random Westminster dude: before you ask, it's two to eleven hundred pounds and you perform for a camera.

Yeah you're a "citizen" alright, "your country", great g□d-blesséd "nation", "governed" by "your" "elected" "representatives", "your" "decision" and power process

We did a #road and #rail #trip from #Saskatchewan through #Alberta to #BritishColumbia, it was 4,761 km. Or Lisbon to Vienna to Stockholm. #Canada is an amazing country because you can travel to so many amazing #nations and #experience so many #cultures within it.
We travel in and through at least 18 #FirstNations lands, some #treaty, some #unceded. Check out native-land.ca/ to see more traditional homelands of #indigenous people.
