2/9 – Reducing the time I spend scrolling my phone is what I'm aiming for.

I've been looking into a lot of dumb phones, like the Cat S22 flip, Punkt MP02, the Mudita, but for now I'm combining an Apple Watch SE with the #booxpalma and airpods.

Using the Palma as a mostly offline device seems to be key. Seeing that it's all Android-based you could download Reddit and browse to your heart's content, but limiting it to Kindle, #Readwise Reader and #Obsidian feels just right 👌

After agonising over setting up my external brain tasks management system in #obsidian for a few days I’m actually starting to like it a whole lot

It’s not slick UX wise in a traditional sense of it. But once I e discovered templater for myself I can declutter the process and notes massively comparing to the off the shelf todo apps

Now I just press the button and every morning I get a neat clean sheet exactly the way I need it

There are people in this world smart enough to write articles for money, yet the articles they write are about how hard it is to use #Obsidian, an app that creates plain text files. I don't get what's so hard. I'm an old man with no college and not a developer and I can do it. #pkm #ObsidianMD

Of course, if you do have long-time plans for your personal #knowledgemanagement, you should not use proprietary tools like #Obsidian, #OneNote, #Evernote and alike.

You also should think of switching to a much better (learnability, portability/compatibility, typobility, logic, featureset) markup syntax like #orgdown which is used in #Emacs #Orgmode (among other tools).

But if you start with Org-mode, you need to know the right way of doing it, as so many web pages recommend. Here's my take:

A specific blog post about the #lockin effects of Obsidian and Co (despite using some tool-specific flavor of MD) is in the making. (Please don't start a religious discussion here.)

I have to use Jira at work. Here's a new Obsidian plugin to sync tasks between Obsidian and Jira. I can't wait to try this plugin.

From the GitHub page:

'Other plugins treat Jira issues as read-only reference material. This one lets you:

" Build full-featured issue templates that mirror your Jira workflow
* Sync ANY field—even custom ones from plugins like ScriptRunner or Insight
* Create new fields with dynamic field mapping (e.g. auto-generate browse URLs from issue.self + issue.key from API response)'

Call #Weird, call me SuperNerd, call me #nerd but I really enjoy doing this. Maybe it’s the #Learning, maybe it’s the #Fun, or maybe I’m a little more #Nerdy than I thought, but building out my #Homelab starting with #PiHole and working from there has been a wonderful experience. The documentation process has also been enjoyable; maybe it’s because it shows my work and what I’ve done as an #accomplishment

Stay tuned for more updates! 😁😁

currently #Obsidian for Android requires full file access permissions because it's necessary for certain third-party sync tools and interoperability — but some users prefer narrower permissions

in an upcoming version we're adding this option, do the tradeoffs make sense here?

If you use Obsidian as your note platform. Then definitely install the Obsidian Web Clipper to clip those web articles that you are using for research, or whatever.

It provides tags, source url, author, published date, clipped date, and description.

Most useful thing and great for ridding yourself of Pocket!!

Trying to decide: Obsidian.md or Logseq — which one is the ultimate tool for knowledge management and note-taking?

Both have their strengths, but I’m curious:
Which do you use and why?
Pros, cons, hidden features — let’s discuss!
