I switched my default browser to @Vivaldi because other ungoogled browsers have so many issues on Linux. I love that Vivaldi offers native packages for my @pop_os_official PC.

My 85-year old mum is going to learning some flavour of #Linux soon. (She doesn’t know this yet)
I was thinking #Mint, but I recently installed #PopOS on my own machine and I’m pretty impressed.
I think this meme needs more love.
Full credit goes to William Papadin at https://www.youtube.com/@nobleknightadventures who made the original video. Not my edit, just found it on a shady site. Original video can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_Z7st2AeaM
I've also posted about #Flameshot before, when I was using #PopOS as my main distro, but I can't get it to work consistently in #Wayland #Bazzite where this just seems to work out of the box for me.
For Gaming on Linux I'm using...

Noice, Jason!
Thank YOU for the heads up!
For the Fediverse hive mind:
Has anyone tested Topgrade with a system running Pop!_Os?
Boosted and bookmarked.

I think I'm going to move off WIndaz 11 on my gaming rig to a Linux distro, probably either Bazzite or Pop_OS. Anyone have any experience? Is gaming on Linux really as good as people say these days? Aiming to play Star Citizen, Titanfall2, maybe a Battlefield, Cyberpunk, and er, OpenTTD :D #PopOS #Bazzite #Linux #LinuxGaming
Oh, specifically the #popos packaging issue I mentioned:
- PopOS uses COSMIC desktop, which is #wayland and in Alpha
- But they use a special configuration which means (on my hardware) other Wayland DEs don't run
- #x11 DEs mostly work fine
- But their packaging assumes Wayland compatibility
- So a lot of software doesn't work or has graphical issues on X11
Unfortunately, this situation reminds me of #elementaryos lockdown, which killed that distro's popularity. #linux
HUSBAND: I think I'll spend the #FourthOfJuly weekend getting Windows off my computer
ME: OMG OMG OMG! IT'S HAPPENING! I'll make an installation drive, and help you back up your files, and install #Linux, and set up Steam. Do you want #LinuxMint or #PopOS? Do you want #KDE? What apps do you need...
My computer made me mad last night so I rage wiped it and am trying #PopOS with their #CosmicDesktop
The user-friendly version of a tiling workspace is interesting. I'm only a few minutes into using it, but it seems like a much better intro to tiling for folks than just dumping them in Sway.
I installed the KDE Plasma desktop on my #POPOS installation that uses GNOME by default. Don’t know why I didn’t do this sooner, it’s so much more powerful and customizable!
Is there any (simple) way to reconfigure Linux to use Mac-like instead of Windows-like keybinds?
Like many, I use a Macbook for work (over ChromeOS or windows), but this breaks my muscle memory with my personal devices running Pop_OS! (Linux)
After 6 months of my workstation being down. Finally got an new RTX 4060 for it and got it working again. Really happy with the new card and have full AV1 support.
^ one day left on this #linux poll!
Con #Pop!_OS en este #ViernesDeEscritorio con algunos detalles de consumo de memoria pero ya veremos que acontece. #Linux #PopOs.
Another game that runs flawlessly on my old laptop now powered by #PopOS #Linux is #AgeOfWonders3 - a game I love to hate. Hate usually starts when those dragons arrive ;)
#KDE #Plasma #icons question.
I use #Vivaldi #PWAs extensively. When I "Install as App" Plasma uses the favicon from the website as the icon for the PWA app.
I recently changed my icon pack, and all the PWA icons reverted to Vivaldi icons. Changed it back; no difference. Uninstalled a PWA and reinstalled it, and it still uses the Vivaldi icon.
This is super-annoying to me because I rely on those app-specific icons for my workflow. How do I learn more about how icon packs work in KDE Plasma, and importantly, how do I get this custom icon behavior back?
Please #boost!
