Southern Sardinia has many beautiful beaches but also the history as one of the largest and most significant mining districts (silver, lead, zinc, copper and coal) in the Mediterranean from prehistoric times to the late 20th century. The forced shutdown of mining operations had a profound and largely negative impact on the local economy and society.

This week I discovered #DanielaPes for the first time through her excellent @youtube_kexp live performance. Daniela Pes originates from #Sardinia 🇮🇹 , and I think she sings in her local Gallurese dialect.

On #Bandcamp I found her #electronic #jazz album 'Spira', however the lyrics of her songs were not included for translation. Even though I am unfortunately clueless of the meaning of her words, her amazing voice & atmospheric music are still captivating.
