CSS (also known as Stingrays or IMSI catchers) are devices that masquerade as legitimate cell-phone towers, tricking phones within a certain radius into connecting to the device rather than a tower

Rayhunter uses a cheap cell hotspot you can flash to detect this happening.

Declassified #JFKFiles reveal that, in 1961, 47% of so-called "political officers" working in US embassies around the world were intel agents #spying on/destabilizing the countries where they were stationed.

In #Chile, 11 of the 13 embassy “political officers” were undercover #CIA.

This now banned dragnet surveillance tactic was used to great effect in Seattle for the most petty of reasons.... there was a protest at the Police Union building.

Little to no property damage or other harm was reported (other than the cops beating ppl of course) none the less the fucking FBI built a case entirely on dragnet phone spying tools fit for a Tom Clancy novel.
