None of this is to say that the state has no justification for demanding payment for anything, at all.

There is one form of "taxation" which is not really #taxation, at all; it is a user fee that you are compelled to pay, because it is just compensation for the benefits that you, personally and particularly, receive from the state for the limited grant of economic monopoly power.

That is Land Value Taxation. #LVT

Even in its supposedly "democratic" form, #Socialism is the government coercively and violently seizing your labor product, using the jusitification that some other person needs it more than you, the person who produced, earned, and rightfully owns it.

If you don't think #taxation is theft, try refusing consent to any taxes you believe are injust or unconstitutional, and see how long it takes the state to send masked men with guns to take away your property, liberty, and eventually, your life.

Last year despite a number of NonDoms jumping ship, the actual taxation raised from NonDoms, under the new tax arrangements was £100mn more than before the change (from less actual taxpayers).

Now that's not a big increase in a £12bn + taxation take, nor is the reduction of NonDoms as dramatic as some of their lobbyists might have you believe (down from 74,100 to 73,700 in the tax year ending April 2024).

What we might make of this; 'storm in a teacup'?

@EUCommission I’m telling you why in The Netherlands people put it on a regular bank account. This is because of the now deemed illegal wealth tax based on hypothetical gains. The High Court in The Hague has indicated it violates EU human rights and therefore has to change. Of course it’s a nice big fat income for the Dutch government so they take their good time to change it. In the meantime people keep on having to pay this illegal tax! #taxation #netherlands
