Peebles' Mural / Pennel's Close for #fotovorschlag "Wandbild" / "Mural"

This Mural is in Peebles Scotland and was made in 2015 by Michael Jessing. It is BIG - 30ft x 8ft / 9.1m x 2.4m.

It's made of 7 different panels representing Peebles' various periods of history.
We have - 1. Prehistoric to Mediaeval, 2. Mediaeval to 1600, 3. 1600's to industrial, 4. 1800's to Twentieth Century, at the Railway Station, 5. 1800's to Twentieth Century, Peebles High Street, 6. Present and Recent Times, 7. Future.

(I had to break up the mural into sections so it's easier to see. The last panel on the bottom is the full mural! )

What do Bologna and Attack on Titan have in common? Three walls and tall people like me that go through them ! Instead of the Maria, Rosa and Sina we have The Circle/Ring of Selenite, The Circle/Ring of the Millennium and La Circla. Porta Nuova is part of the second circle - The Circle of the Millennium - named so as it is thought to have been built around the first millennium. There used to be 18 Porte (city gates) in this circle, but only 4 remain. They are called "torresotto" because they used to be under towers. Thankfully they are no longer locked so tall monsters like me can come into the centre for a snack

La Torre degli Asinelli for #fotovorschlag "Dinge, die mit T beginnen" / "Things beginning with T"

Asinelli tower is one of the two tower sisters - the other is Garisenda (which is not visible but would be on the right of this photo). The tower is 97.20 meters high and there are 498 steps to the tippity-top. It was built between 1109 and 1119 by the Asinelli family.

No, this little door is not in the Shire. We're in Giardini Margherita in Bologna. This little hut is a reconstruction of a Villanovian dwelling. The Villanovians (900-550 BCE) are the first Etruscan inhabitants of the Bologna we know today. This is probably also the only house in Bologna that AirB&B don't have their grubby little hands on... yet.
