This picture taken with a floppy disk camera (Sony Mavica FD71) proves that you look much younger if the picture is taken with a lot less pixels then we are used to

Just recording a tape from that discs
Apple //c -- IRL vs LEGO
I've put a gallery of photos I took during the INIT HELLO Apple II conference at the System Source Computer Museum this past weekend online for anyone who might like a look at some of the festivities.
What a wonderful time it was! Can't wait for next year!

Spotted at the System Source Computer Museum: Missile Command 3.0 running on a Xerox Alto.
How many people wrote games for the Alto?! I wonder if this guy went on to bigger things?
Pulled the trigger on a Tenma Universal Test Center - Has a frequency counter, DMM, function generator, and power supply in one benchtop box. Probably gonna regret it, but what the hell.
Picked up my first ever amber monitor at the INIT HELLO vendor/swap room on day one. Adjusted a little and it looks great!
Est-ce bien raisonnable ?

More fun from the show this weekend.

More INIT HELLO fun at the System Source Computer Museum today!
My first #modem. 2400bps, so what, about 255 bytes per second, plenty fast. My favourite #BBS was Underground ubbs in #Nakkila
And I did some early browsing, that was quite painful already.
I was lucky once with lighting, only trace was cut, easy enough to fix.

I just love this vintage tech, which still works. One could use the calculator on the mobile phone of course, but this is way more fun (and more beautiful) ...
Forty years ago today, the Commodore Amiga 1000 was released to the world. With its unprecedented graphics & sound capabilities, powerful 16-bit CPU and custom chipset, and UNIX-like multitasking OS, the Amiga was a truly revolutionary system for its time. And, many are still in use to this day, with the platform seeing new software and hardware development from month to month.
I presently have three, myself. :-)
Happy 40th, Amiga!
This is fascinating, the Computer Devices' DOT, the a portable that was the first computer to ship with Sony 3.5-inch disk drives and it had a *widescreen* CRT display (which supported 132x25 textmode!).
And the video ... has some surprises...
Well worth a watch.

I love this story. Just ran back across it.
"Re-enacting Tron on the Apple IIgs" - Hack A Day

This is astonishingly impressive: A2Stream
"A2Stream simultaneously receives an .a2stream file from any HTTP server and plays it through the stock Apple II speaker circuit using pulse-width modulation at 22050Hz sample rate with ~5.17 bit resolution."
Demo video with direct line-in - sounds amazing:
