The US is the biggest economy, but it relies on a security and economical architecture with Europe, Japan, Canada and Australia and certainly a few other countries.
Russia with an economy the size of Italy can not, and Putin will probably just USA to destabilize the west to prove how weak democratic nazis are.
Strategically Trumps play makes no sense.
