About a decade or so ago, I downloaded a folder of obscure/forgotten <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/70s" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#70s</a> and <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/80s" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#80s</a> <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/punk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#punk</a> abd <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/newwave" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#newwave</a> songs, and included in that was “Engine Of Excess” by POL.The b-side is really fun too, but the A is a true gem for fans of that genre’s time frame.Their debut from ‘79, Laughing Academy”, still eludes me. However…Neither of the two songs on THIS single (from the same year) appear on the album, which made this a very cool find for me.I kinda always wanted to be in a band that LOOKS like them. That’s a killer back photo. There’s just so many great, hooky tunes spread across their first two records.
