Reading Neal Stephenson's The Diamond Age (1995). Someone said it's relevant to AI. Not seeing it yet—but I’m only 100 words or so in. Unless the AI angle is that Diamond Age reads like an AI mimicry of a Neal Stephenson novel? I mean, if a character is sitting at a desk writing most novelists would just leave it at that and get on with the story. But no, with NS we get the reinvention of the ink, the pen, the paper, the chair, the carpet, the room, the building, the city. No wonder his books are such doorstoppers.
