Mark DingemanseOne neat thing about the <a href="https://scholar.social/tags/digitalhumanities" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#digitalhumanities</a> crowd is that there is a proper blogging culture. So where in many fields a conference experience is quite ephemeral (excepting some scattered social media activity), here, there are plenty of Rückblicks, summaries, liveblogs etc. Taking advantage of that, I've assembled a bunch of reflections on my <a href="https://scholar.social/tags/dhd2025" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#dhd2025</a> keynote from around the DH blogosphere <a href="https://markdingemanse.net/talks/dhd2025#responses" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank">https://markdingemanse.net/talks/dhd2025#responses</a>

Christof Schöch<a href="https://fedihum.org/@jomla" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@jomla</a> I agree that at <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/DHd2025" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#DHd2025</a>, <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/Mastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Mastodon</a> worked great. Similarly at <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/CHR2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#CHR2024</a> last year. It is more quite here at <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/DH2025" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#DH2025</a>, clearly. But I hear that <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/Bluesky" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Bluesky</a> is not all that intense either, apparently? (Maybe only in the first few days.) I think <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/Whova" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Whova</a> takes some of the social media / microblogging energy away from the open social media, which is a pity.

AsteriskInteresting in how at <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/Dhd2025" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Dhd2025</a>, <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/fediverse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#fediverse</a> was by far the network with more activity, while at <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/DH2025" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#DH2025</a> it feels that <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/Bluesky" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Bluesky</a> dominates as the primary network. Adds up to my impression that the <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/fediverse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#fediverse</a> is predominantly used in the DACH area <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/DigitalHumanities" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#DigitalHumanities</a>, while everyone else uses bsky. Don't really get it for obvious reasons but don't want to start yet another fedi-vs-bsky discussion. 🤪
