I signed up years ago for the #NIH #AllOfUs research program so the NIH has extensive data about me, including genetic data.
I trusted NIH then to keep my data secure and private, but I am obviously reconsidering that and thinking about withdrawing from the program.
I've asked All Of Us what assurances they can give that my data will remain safe, but I am skeptical that they'll have a persuasive answer.

Headline: US reports first outbreak of deadly H7N9 bird flu since 2017

Source: @Reuters

From the article: "PARIS, March 17 (Reuters) - The United States reported the first outbreak of the deadly H7N9 bird flu on a poultry farm since 2017, as the country continues to grapple with another bird flu strain that has infected humans and caused egg prices to hit record highs.

"The spread of avian influenza, commonly called bird flu, has ravaged flocks around the world, disrupting supply and fuelling higher food prices. Its spread to mammals, including dairy cows in the U.S., has raised concerns among governments about a risk of a new pandemic."

The #WarOnScience will most likely lead to a drastic reduction in investigational sites for clinical trials in the US

▶️ across all therapeutic areas
▶️ irrespective of funding (public/commercial)
▶️ irrespective of the sponsor's location (e.g. EU, CN).

This will not only lead to longer recruitment + therefore development times almost *everywhere* but less potential treatment options for Americans without proper HC access.

From the video description: "Can cats get bird flu? Is there cure for measles? How many measles cases in the U.S.? Is the new COVID vaccine effective? Why are cancer screenings declining?

"AMA's Vice President of Science, Medicine and Public Health, Andrea Garcia, JD, MPH, discusses post-pandemic cancer screening rates, latest updates on the measles outbreak, bird flu in cattle, H5N1 in pets, and the effectiveness of the COVID vaccine. American Medical Association CXO Todd Unger hosts."

Malthus would be proud

Source: @AssociatedPress

From the article: "The Washington-based Malaria No More says new modeling shows that just a year of disruption in the malaria-control supply chain would lead to nearly 15 million additional cases and 107,000 additional deaths globally. It has urged the Trump administration to “restart these life-saving programs before outbreaks get out of hand.”"
