Slackware 15.0

Small but mighty news for UNIX fans:
GNU ed 1.22 is out! Now you can filter specific line ranges through shell commands directly in ed, ex(1)-style:

1,10!sort
Just like in ex or sed, this filters addressed lines through your favorite shell tools a great upgrade for scripting and editing workflows.

Even better: Today’s batch of Slackware -current updates already includes ed 1.22. If you’re running -current and up to date, you already have the new version!

www.phoronix.comDebian 13.0 "Trixie" Planning For Release On August 9The Debian release team today shared their final release plans for Debian 13 'Trixie' that aims to be out as stable in less than one month's time.

🎉 Happy Birthday, Slackware! 🐧

Released on July 17, 1993, Slackware is the oldest actively maintained Linux distro. It has been going strong for 32 years now!

From floppy disks to modern setups, it's been a wild ride.

Did you ever try Slackware? Still using it? Share your experience below! 👇

I started using #Slackware at the end of 1995 when I came back from the (then) mandatory military service. Before that I was using OS/2.

ELF binary format had been just introduced to replace old a.out format that was coming straight out of SCO Unix.
Slackware 3.0 was the first linux distribution adopting it at that moment.

...and here we are :D

When #slackware came out I was an edgy teenager, still using a DOS PC. I knew of it, but it was a few years until I had tried it. Somewhere between 97-98 after out of high school and I was trying to run my own server (which was going bad on win98). Tried mandrake first, then redhat, and then tried ZipSlack, and the rest was history. Been loving Slackware ever since. Thank you @volkerdi for all the years of making my machines tick! Happy Birthday #slackware !

Today, Slackware Linux is 32 years old. As such, I love Slackware in all of 4,294,967,295 ways.

@volkerdi Thank you for everything you have done for the Linux world, and thanks to everyone who has helped contribute along the way. Without you, Linux would not nearly be the awesome ecosystem we know today. Here's to many more years of Slackware.

Thank you for everything, Patrick :-)
