Space HoboI have a question about <a href="https://teh.entar.net/tags/ereaders" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#ereaders</a>, specifically those with <a href="https://teh.entar.net/tags/eink" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#eink</a> / <a href="https://teh.entar.net/tags/epaper" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#epaper</a> displays.Why is it that they all seem to have "cover" images that replace the screen contents when they aren't fully powered up? I thought one of the great advantages of the e-ink displays was that they can keep displaying your data on the screen even when off. Why not let the user see what they last brought up? Why not let them catch up on the page they were last on while the device is coming out of sleep mode?It seems bizarre to undo one of the biggest advantages the display technology provides.
