ich suche ein #Multifunktionsgerät ( #Drucker + #Scanner ), zu dem es #Treiber gibt (vielleicht sogar vom Hersteller?), so dass es zuverlässig unter #LinuxMint (Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon) funktioniert. Hat jemand Erfahrungen/Empfehlungen?
Meinen #EpsonWF2760 bekomme nur rudimentär ans Drucken, ohne Patronenstatus etc. und nicht ans Scannen.
I have a very nice HP Color LaserJet MFP M283fdw. It has a scanner with an automatic document feeder.
On the Linux side, I usually use `xsane` to scan. This works when I put a document on the document glass. But it doesn't work with the ADF. When I tell xsane to use the ADF, the scanner sucks the documents through the ADF as it should, but then xsane pops up an error dialog that says "failed to start scanner : document feeder out of documents" and doesn't seem to have any scans.
I *did* get it to work with the `scanadf` command, so there's nothing really wrong, just some software confusion.
I have two questions:
* Is there something I can do with `xsane` to make it handle the ADF correctly?
* Is there an alternative to `xsane` that might work instead?
As a #Linux user myself I am not used to the limited hardware support of #MicrosoftWindows 
Yesterday I failed to help a coworker installing an older #Canon #scanner. Canon’s drivers were only for Windows XP and last updated long before the end of XP. Today’s Windows can’t do anything with the scanner. Device Manager can barely tell there’s an unknown Canon device present. 
With #Debian you just plug in the scanner and you’re done.

The two #FOSS #scanner apps i'd installed in his KFedora VM are #Skanlite & #SimpleScan. This morning i found another possibility for him, & have emailed about it to him, asking if he'd like me to also install it for him to evaluate; #VueScan https://flathub.org/en-GB/apps/com.hamrick.VueScan . I wrote the email with heavy heart, & kinda sorta hope he declines the offer, coz this is #Proprietary, not #FOSS, which i always prefer to eschew.

Ich probier's auch mal hier: Hat jemand Verwendung für einen old-style Canon USB Scanner? Sonst landet er halt leider auf dem Wertstoffhof und das wäre doch schade.
Über die Scansoftware NAPS2 (https://www.naps2.com) habe ich ja immer mal wieder geschrieben. Das Anlegen unterschiedlicher Profile mit Platzhaltern ist für das digitale Aufräumen nützlich. Auch kann man so z. B. ganz einfachen Scannern trotzdem die Fähigkeit beibringen, automatisch auf einen Sambaordner zu scannen usw.
Inzwischen ist die Version 8 als Beta erschienen mit einer neuen Seitenleiste, die die Auswahl von Profilen erleichter.

Need help resetting error P07 on a Canon Pixma MG3150 multi-function printer. I’ve cleaned the ink absorbers but need to reset the error code else the device won’t do anything. My parents only need it as a scanner but it won’t even do that while this code is in effect.
Have tried guides for similar printers but none work. I can get into reset mode but can’t find the combination to reset the error after that.

Jeg ønsker å scanne en samling gamle lysbilder.
For noen år siden kom jeg så langt at jeg kjøpte en scanner, men den gikk i stykker i en flytteprosess kort tid etterpå og jeg mistet driven i prosjektet.
Det er imidertid fortsatt en god ide å få det gjort: Lysbildeframviseren blir brukt for sjelden, og vet noen hva en lysbildekveld er nå?
Det er bare det at--- det finnes ikke lysbildescannere lenger?
