"Subjective validation, sometimes called personal validation effect, is a cognitive bias by which people will consider a statement or another piece of information to be correct if it has any personal meaning or significance to them. In your brain there's an incentive system and a reward system. One thing that triggers your reward system is validation. A narcissist will cultivate and distribute validation in what can only be described as "passing the needle".

It's the drug of self.
