#StarTrekTNG's "Qpid" is one of the few episodes in which the camera comes so close to Picard's Enterprise-D ready room painting that the blue signatures of Rick Sternbach and Andy Probert are (barely) visible on screen.

Angus MacGyver at the Strategic Research Development Administration facility in the #MacGyver episode "The Human Factor" and the Bajoran refugee camp on Valo II (#StarTrekTNG's "Ensign Ro"
), both filmed at Bronson Canyon but 5 years apart.
While the ready room in #StarTrekTNG's "Qpid" looks in many ways still as it did in season 1 ("Code of Honor"
, "Conspiracy"
), concerning the chairs, for example, one major differences are the overhead lights, which are separated into smaller sections and not one continuous light-band.
Uh, yeah - first you have to be able to get something the size/weight of an aircraft carrier into orbit. So, yeah ... think about that.

Picard's ready room desktop monitor in #StarTrekTNG's "Qpid" features his "Tagus III Archaeological Notes". In the HD version of the episode, all of the notes are fully legible. They feature the names of several people working on TNG back then and also Memory Alpha and the Vulcan Science Academy.
A decorative black bowl, that is hanging on the wall of Vash's Enterprise-D guest quarters in #StarTrekTNG's "Qpid", will later appear in Data's quarters on a small side table, here seen in season 5's "Darmok"
.
In the season 2 #MacGyver episode "The Human Factor", MacGyver is seen entering the Eastern Bronson Canyon cave entrance (not the Western Batman exit). This entrance was also seen in #StarTrekTOS "Bread and Circuses"
, #StarTrekTNG's "Attached"
and #StarTrekVOY's "State of Flux"
(from the inside).

#StarTrekTNG's "Qpid" is the first late season 4 episode in which the old Livingston (a red lionfish (Pterois volitans)), known from earlier episodes ("TBoBWII"
, "Suddenly Human"
), has returned. In between, he was played by a radial firefish (Pterois radiata) ("Data's Day"
, "Devil's Due"
, "First Contact"
.
It's a pity I didn't remember this line in #StarTrekTNG's "Hide and Q" earlier, as it fits yesterday's post perfectly. ;-) Bear in mind, though, that Q is browsing through Picard's "Globe Illustrated Shakespeare" here, while Patrick Stewart appears in the "Annotated Shakespeare".
Dr. Crusher's casual blue knitted outfit, which debuted only one episode earlier in #StarTrekTNG's "The Nth Degree", is seen much better in the following episode "Qpid" during the breakfast scene with Vash
. Oh Jean-Luc, you ARE in trouble!
Thanks to your help, I was able to find out that the live-action element of the Ventax II matte painting in #StarTrekTNG's "Devil's Due" was filmed on the Sepulveda Dam in Los Angeles
. Because of that, it was easy for me to identify the dam in the season 2 #MacGyver episode "Twice Stung"
The same type of two-piece shovel that Vash and Picard use on Risa to dig for the Tox Uthat in #StarTrekTNG's "Captain's Holiday" again appears in Vash's Enterprise-D guest quarters in "Qpid"
. Dukat will later use a shovel of this type in #StarTrekDS9's "Indiscretion"
.

In my 30 years as a #StarTrek researcher, this will forever be one of my coolest finds: This screenshot from #StarTrekTNG's "Qpid" shows both 24th/25th century Starfleet Captain Jean-Luc Picard and 20th/21st century thespian Sir Patrick Stewart
on screen at the same time. How that is possible?

Apart from #StarTrekTNG's "Qpid" and "True Q"
, this double page is seen in two more episodes, "Silicon Avatar"
and "Descent I"
. In both cases, Picard has an argument of sorts with a strong female character, Dr. Kila Marr and Admiral Alyssa Nechayev in t ready room while the book is on display. I was interviewed about this find some while ago: 5/6

In universe, this was absolutely Q's doing, of course! This exact double page not only appears in season 4's "Qpid" (pic 1+2) but also in his very next appearance on #StarTrekTNG, in season 6's "True Q" (pic 3+4, better shot in next post). Q had a little fun with the curious likeness between the actor and "son capitaine"... 4/6
I am 100% sure that this was done on purpose by the set decorator or somebody else behind the scenes, as the same double page from the book appears both in the ready room and Picard's quarters in "Qpid". At this point in #StarTrekTNG, volume II (not volume I) of "Annotated Shakespeare" is usually seen in Picard's quarters, so someone had fun with this, moving the prop from one set to another! 3/6
We watched #StarTrekTNG's "Where No One Has Gone Before" and I noticed for the first time that illusionary Yvette Gessard-Picard and the female "corridor crewmember"
seen here and in "Hide and Q" seem to have the same taste in colourful earrings. ;-)
