It seems like between everything happening and being mentally in places I make a scoop per 6 months at most. But well, here they are; sisters from the same piece of wood, one put-together but sassy, the other edgy on the outside but the gentlest soul when you get to know her closer. Guess which is which.
(They don't have homes, but I'll appreciate just kind words, tbh).

After a break from #printmaking, I spent the last couple of days carving this #woodcut --
I forgot how fussy and splintery and a challenge wood (birch plywood) can be to work with. I love it! and have missed printmaking!!

They do a chainsaw carving competition around here every year. The artists are amazing.

I’ve carved all the runes now. I couldn’t fit the entire text I had planned since the stone was tok small.

I still have to make the grooves deeper in some places and try to straighten some staves.
That’s two out of three rows done, including the bands. I’m going to take a break now, and finish the last row later. I will also have to go through all the runes again to make them deeper.
we played around a bit with some underglaze and carving. not entirely happy with the carving as it is a lot deeper than expected but the mudtools carving tools do cur really well.
underglaze will probably fire pretty translucent but we’ll see

This is my favourite grotesque--it always makes me smile. It is from a contemporary carving on a bench outside the York Minster. (techinically not a gargoyle because it is not on a roof with as part of a gutter spout). #carving #Gothic #Yorkshire

I love the expressiveness of this face on one of the early 1900s Garden Pavilions at Pollok House in Glasgow.

Det var i fjor Vipps-eier DNB og Apple laget kokelimonke. Bare ny iPhone fikk oppdatert iOS.
Bare nytt iOs var sikkert nok for Vipps… liksom?
Kokelimonke-taktikk! Kjøpte billigste, minste «engangs»-iPhone. Farvel til mitt kjære fotogrep. Noen ganger forvekslet med en revolver i lomma.
