Rockin’ all the way to uniquely historic jailhouses
Shown below are some of the unique and/or historic jails we have seen during our travels over the years. Just when you think you’ve seen every design, we came across the round one in Wilson, Kansas just a few weeks ago.
Of those depicted, the underground jail in Clifton, Arizona appears to be the nastiest one for incarceration — though none would be pleasant. And none appear to be the type of place where one would likely see Elvis singing away with the warden nor his fellow prisoners. Peace!

“The warden threw a party in the county jail
The prison band was there and they began to wail
The band was jumpin’ and the joint began to swing
You should’ve heard those knocked out jailbirds sing
Let’s rock
Everybody, let’s rock
Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancin’ to the Jailhouse Rock“
