mailchi.mp500: We've Run Into An Issue | Mailchimp

We're close to when I hold my annual all femme+queer founded, run and centered electronics camp!

My camp brings in folks who are usually too intimidated by "technical" things and teaches them they are more than capable of soldering, understanding LEDs, and much more.

For our first three years this entire camp ran because I pumped a ton of what I made at my first tech job into it.

I don't have that job now.

We are halfway to our goal! ✨💖✨ Help us out!

Hi everybody, a non-profit that I support is in need of funds. They are a crisis line that supports marginalized people in STEM. Since thee election calls have increased to the point that they have had to shut down until they can improve their communications system. They have a fund raiser going on right now. Please help spread the word so they can open again.

Thank you!

ZeffyHelp THRIVE Lifeline thrive!Together We THRIVEIt's on us. We show up for each other. We keep our communities safe. This has been our mantra for five years since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic when our small team of 9 people opened up our personal phone line and began providing non-carceral peer support, by and for multiply marginalized communities, in their times of crisis. And now we need you to show up for us.The 5-fold increase in texter-volume we experienced after the November 2024 U.S. election cycle has meant that we had to shut down our lifeline until we can afford to move to a mass communications platform that will cost us >30 times more per month than our previous services. If you value non-carceral support, if you love someone who has needed kindness during a time of crisis, if you have benefitted from your community showing up for you, then we request your support. Please help us pay for the platform that we need to turn our line back on.Who is THRIVE Lifeline?By and for multiply marginalized people, our team is made up of: 79% LGBTQ2S+, 75% living with disabilities, neurodivergent, and/or mental health needs, 60% Trans and Nonbinary people, 53% People of Color, and 16% immigrants.Since June 2020, THRIVE has supported, at no cost, more than 20,000 texters in 50 countries worldwide, and offered peer support engagement through our two discord servers, virtual, and live peer support meetings. We have educated and mentored hundreds of crisis responders, provided 50 college-level internships and numerous additional professional development opportunities, and helped many multiply marginalized students and early career professionals to reach their educational and career goals. As a fully volunteer-run organization, THRIVE's leadership and team have been paying out of pocket, sharing our skills, and donating our time to provide the services we wished we had access to in some of the darkest times of our lives. Our little ragtag group made the impossible happen, without federal grants or corporate sponsorships, just community showing up for community. Now it's your turn!Join the THRIVE family -- help us pay for the platform we need to restore service to our line.

It’s important, when you’re making graphs, to think about the story you want to tell with the data, and what type of graph, and what features of the graph, will help you tell that story.

Likewise, when you’re looking at someone else’s graph, we all need to apply that critical data literacy and look at the scale on the y axis, as well as checking the labels, finding out the origin of the data, and considering whether the graph is accurate, a valid way to display that data, and what story it might be trying to tell you.

A few images from yesterdays first #HoloDeck presentation at Prof. Varshneys #lab at the #Indian Institute of #Science (#IISc) in #Bangalore (#India), where people enjoyed 'playing molecules'.

Curiosity Meets Science – Girls’ Day 2025 at #MPL & #MPZPM

We recently welcomed 30 curious girls to explore #physics, light, and #medicine at our institutions. They discovered the daily work of physicists, lab engineers, mechanics, and IT’s role in #research. With countless questions they explored labs and workshops. We hope to inspire future #science and #technology enthusiasts!

Had my friends drag me through the math and code to generate 2d and 3d game objects. (Shit was rough but I made it. But at what cost? 😭 I can read the code and tell you what it does at least...)

Have been reading academic papers on Generative AI, Machine Learning, Neural networks etc.

But also, getting into cybersecurity and consumer protections (protecting USERS is one of my concerns about AI!! Protecting your unwashed tech bro AI loving ass!)
