This week I've mainly been reading, no. 225.
Adele Rosenfeld's novel Jellyfish Have No Ears (2024) relates one woman's decision whether or not to have a cochlear implant. The narration of the decision is enlightening but marred by the (to me, unnecessary & un-illuminating) inclusion of the protagonist's imaginary fellow travellers which shifts focus away from the fascinating central theme. However, for the most part it is still worth reading.
