"The Labour Party is dead. It has destroyed its principles and its popularity. Some Labour MPs who consider themselves on the left are still clinging to its corpse. They say that by staying in they’ll be able to retain their political influence. My response is simple: you haven’t been able to stop disability cuts, you haven’t been able to stop the flow of arms to a genocidal apartheid state, so where is this influence you’re talking about? There’s no point standing around waiting for a change of leadership while people are dying – not just in Gaza, but also from the poverty in this country. Time to get out, build something new, and invite everyone to join."

“750,000 people have signed up to Your Party – & the establishment is panicking”

by Jamie Driscoll in The Canary @thecanaryuk @UKLabour

“‘Your Party’ hasn’t split the #Labour vote. Labour had already thrown it away when Reform took control in Durham and won the Runcorn by-election, after the sitting Labour MP was convicted of violent assault”

@Shivviness @petealexharris I too would 'like to see Corbyn's party get a huge majority at the next general election [and] shortly thereafter give Scotland a referendum'.

I'd also like to see an end to hunger, a reversal of global warming, and an open-handed sharing of wealth around the world.

It would be nice.

In the real world, however, I think #Corbyn's moment of opportunity, if it ever existed, has, like the #SNP's, passed.

There are a lot of lovely ppl on here who are passionate in their desire and commitment to rejoining the European Union, convinced that by doing so, the UK's economy will get a huge bounce.

That may be so.

But what do they make of the EU's relationship with Israel? Would they exchange the suffering of million ppl for a 3% uptick in GDP.

And was #Corbyn right to be so hesitant in supporting a vast neoliberal enterprise?

It comes down to ppl with me xxx

I wish no harm

The #EU is #Israel’s biggest trading partner and its main partner in investment and people-to-people exchange. It is also one of its major arms suppliers. The association agreement between the EU and Israel, established in 2000 after the Oslo accords, is the most favourable of all those concluded by the bloc with third countries.

#Corbyn wouldn't put up with this

#neoliberalism
#Brexit getting it now?

"Home by home, hospital by hospital and generation by generation, we are not just witnessing a war; we are witnessing a #genocide—this time being livestreamed all over the world. Today, the death toll in #Gaza exceeds 61,000, and at least 110,000 people—one in 20 of the entire population—have been severely injured. Two Israeli officials are now wanted by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity." -- Jeremy #Corbyn

Absolutely forensic speech here by Jeremy #Corbyn in the Commons last month on the #GazaGenocide that I completely missed (found it today while searching Hansard for details of the RAF surveillance flights).

Was this completely ignored by public media, or was I just not paying attention?

@Walrus Sadly #rejoinEU unlikely if #corbyn attempts to get the unions onside

He is very anti #brussles because he wants to micro-manage UK commerce and industry

Here is an archive of the #rmt betraying the workers (and my #labour values) in 2016
